 Volunteer of the Year: Vern Wittman, Rebuilding Together Peninsula

Vern Wittman was recognized as Peninsula Health Care District’s 2019 Volunteer of the Year.

Mr. Wittman has been a Rebuilding Together volunteer for more than 8 years. Over the past 8 years he has been an integral part of the team helping out in the warehouse and assisting with home repairs. His thoughtful approach to problem solving in invaluable to ensuring repairs are done in a timely manner and done correctly. Through his dedication he greatly impacts the lives of not only the people whose homes he repairs but also his fellow volunteers, AmeriCorps volunteers and staff members that he interacts with through his work.

Mr. Wittman has gone above and beyond and exemplifies commitment and the impact that a dedicated person make to improving the community- one repair at a time.

Rebuilding Together Peninsula’s Safe at Home Program provides no-cost home repairs and modifications to low-income homeowners, many of which are seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and families with children.
