YFES Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention
Youth and Family Enrichment Services (YFES) crisis line was one
of the first in the country, founded by one of the pioneers of the
crisis movement, Charlotte Ross, in 1966. Many things have changed
since its inception over 35 years ago, but the program’s primary
function remains the same: to provide immediate, 24-hour assistance
to people in times of great stress or grief. Additional services
include: suicide education, survivors of suicide group, and youth
intervention team. YFES believes that crises are a normal part of
life, and that sometimes these crises can be too large for us to
handle on our own.
