The EIR/CEQA process was put on hold until the developer team was identified. Through the RFQ (Request for Qualifications), then the RFP (Request for Proposals) process that occurred over the first 5-6 of this year, the Board of Directors selected their preferred developer team at the September 28th, 2017 Board Meeting. The next step is to enter into an Exclusive Negotiating Agreement (ENA) with Professional Medical Builders (PMB), Generations Senior Housing, and Smith Group Architects. We expect this part of the negotiations to take 4-6 months. Prior to finalizing the development agreement, we will host a town hall meeting with the public to present the plan.

To further evaluate projected traffic impacts, additional traffic counts were collected in April while school was in session, and additional counts are underway to study cut-through traffic in Ray Park, the intersection of Murchison at El Camino Real, and the intersection of Millbrae Avenue at El Camino Real.

The selection of an experienced development partner is progressing as scheduled. We have received proposals and expect to make a selection in the fall. Our development partner will be participating in our future community dialogues about project design guidelines and the traffic study. The District will be leasing land to our development partner to build and operate the components of the Peninsula Wellness Community. This is similar to the land lease partnership we have with Sutter Health to build and operate the Mills Peninsula Medical Center.

The City of Burlingame’s environmental consultant has done the additional traffic studies noted above, an updated Arborist Report, and a Water Supply Assessment. The Draft Environmental Impact Report is on schedule to be available for public review and comment in mid-November. There will be a number of opportunities over the following few months for public input.

The Peninsula Health Care District website has been revised to make the monthly Peninsula Wellness Community Board reports more easily accessible for viewing (below).
