Jackie Almes
Jackie Almes comes to the district with over 5 years of experience in healthcare. Soon after beginning work, she began to realize how much she enjoyed helping the community. As our Youth Outreach Specialist, she is responsible for working directly with our youth advisory group (YAG) to incorporate their ideas into our youth mental health programs. She will work to ensure that youth voice is at the forefront of program development, launch, and ongoing service delivery. She’ll also be working on the development of our new integrated youth mental health center, allcove San Mateo in coordination with our YAG.
Growing up in San Mateo, Jackie was an active member of the community. As an active member, she was involved in youth programs such as AYSO and coaching volleyball for a local club team. During her years at Mercy Burlingame, she was a part of the Mercy Ambassadors. The ambassadors created a welcoming space for all students and helped new students transition into high school. She then went on to graduate from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science. During her years at the university, she began to focus on helping others within her college community while also studying the clinical aspects of psychology.
Jackie is passionate about mental health programs in the community. She actively works to create a safe and open environment for conversations regarding mental health. She is excited to start working for the district and is looking forward to providing a voice for the youth.
