Sonrisas Dental Health (SDH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to quality dental care and oral health education by removing barriers for all regardless of age, mobility or cognitive limitations, and/or ability to pay, and does so with dignity, respect and compassion.

The Sonrisas Team works to improve the health of our community members through culturally sensitive, integrated care, with a focus on disease prevention. With two conveniently located centers in San Mateo and Half Moon Bay California, and a robust community outreach program to schools and seniors.

SDH strives to create a dental home for all patients.

Services include preventative dental care, general and geriatric dentistry, pediatric dentistry, sedation dentistry, and accommodations for patients with special needs. Our bilingual staff can speak Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, and Korean to help make patients comfortable and engaged in their oral health.

SDH’s impact on the community’s oral health is augmented by its partnerships with San Mateo County’s Dental FQHC and Farmworker Health Programs, the Health Plan of San Mateo’s Medical/Dental Integration and Children’s Health Initiative programs, and various K-8 school districts throughout the County.  The quality of SDH’s dental care and community outreach programs has attracted a wide range of funding supporters: Peninsula Health Care and Sequoia Healthcare Districts, Stanford, Kaiser, Sutter, and Dignity health systems, First 5, San Bruno Community Foundation, City of Half Moon Bay, San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame and San Mateo Rotary Clubs, the Sand Hill Foundation, Delta Dental Foundation, and many more.
